My Guild Wars main is Hizashi Aoi, feel free to contact me ingame if you want to go kill all of the things/watch the things kill me. I also now a member of [Oops] how awesome :D
This seemed like a good idea at the time. :T
And the Reddit thread where I found em here.
Gotta say, I never really thought I’d play an Asura because I tend to not like the small races. But they were looking more and more awesome every time I see them.
Also. My favorite dye mix so far is Tarnish mixed with old gold. :3
lol I just got to level 15 on this guy before the time ran out. I wonder if we’ll see these characters ever again…. /sniff
Literally just had the stress-test pulled out from under me while I was exploring Godslost Swamp. So I’ll add a few more screenshots from my adventures. (I made a barbie doll-Uh. I mean… Ele!)
Did you know:
- If you want to go to any of the big cities, just press H and go to the PVP tab. Click on ‘Be in the mist’ and there you can go to LA. From LA you can go anywhere!
- You can add your own markers (waypoints) to the map, by using Alt + left mouse!
- Try out skills before spending points in The Mists. Once there, your character will be boosted to level 80 with all skills and trait points unlocked. You can freely swap in new healing, utility, and elite skills here and test them out on various types of practice dummies found throughout the zone.
- If your pack is full, right clicking on any collectible including common crafting items, minipets in your inventory or cooking ingredients can be banked without you ever going to a bank. Just right click the item and choose bank collectible. Next time you go to your bank, it’ll be stored there in the appropriate tab.
- Try alt+clicking and dragging the stack to open the split dialog panel.
With the stress test coming up on Monday, this forum post has a list of great tips other players have discovered! Click the link to read more - you won’t want to miss these!
Additionally, Guild Wars 2 requires TCP ports 80, 443, 6112 and port 6600 be fully unrestricted and accessible, both inbound and outbound. If you are connecting to Guild Wars 2 while on a campus, military, or business network, please check with your network’s administrator to verify that these ports are fully opened and unrestricted. If you are on a home Local Area Network (LAN), you will want to make sure that your network’s hardware is properly configured.
When I had trouble connecting to the game during the BWE, this was one of my problems. It might be helpful to others.
Guild Wars 2 - Armor; Models and Concept
The Sylvari racial armor and the one that looks like a Choo-choo Train look awesome. They all do.
god that icebrood armor… i need it.
me and my Charrdian friend, we ran about killing things and getting killed by things. mostly by Ogres but also by ghosts, Skale (dont fight them in the water) and devourers. Ahh, its just like Presearing all over again xD
also the music that plays in Ascalon is amazing. The area “Devast” something or other, had the best I’d heard in game yet. Though I’m not sure what the requirements for that to play were.
Statue of Balthazar that stood between Lakeside Country and Green Hills country in pre-searing. In Gw2, a group of grawl have defaced it with the word “Badazar” and the grawl boss is Badazar’s champion. Oh dear. Silly grawl.
I’m also going to mention here that the areas in this game are freaking huge. And I’m not just talking about the cities. I walked from the Black Citadel, (built on rin/Nolani) right across to after Ascalon City (post searing) and before Frontier gate. And it was all the same area. And I didn’t hit the far wall. And it took ages. Though it was fun ages, since there was always things to kill/be killed by.
I decided i was happy with my server, so i spent my 2000 gems on the various things in the microtransaction store. Minipets, extra dye colours, Pirate costume, random tonic :D
The pirate costume gave you 5 skills when you wore all of it
a wooden sword flourish on 1
Number 2 had your character shout “YARRRR”
3 was “Walk the plank” and your guy just falls on his face and theres a big splash of water around him.
4 is summon parrot
And five is build a cannon that goes Bang when you fire it and confuses all the players.
None of the things actually do anything other than look amusing and have fun animations.
I also got a pack of three minipets and they’re pretty cool. Non combatants of course but they follow you about and you can find where they’ve gone on the map, Some can also follow you underwater :D
I really liked that dye I unlocked “Oil slick” it was called. It made this really awesome colour on the scale mail, and then with the Antique Gold colour…Haha, Thank you Kristen Perry for this amazing dye system.

Another little thing, but here’s the Tengu’s look in GW2. I believe I read somewhere once that they have a city in Tyria now? Dominion of Winds? Not sure.
